Tips for Choosing Your Beauty Team
There are many ways to go about finding a make-up artist and hairstylist for your wedding. The question is, how do you find the best styling team that fits YOU? When I say you, I mean your style, personality, budget, location and whether they can accommodate what you need. To most brides, this is one of the first things they book because, let’s be honest, you’ve been eyeing up your “Dream Team” since the day you’ve started dating your significant other. You’re with the styling team from the time you wake up until the time you leave for the ceremony so choose wisely because the hair and makeup team could set the tone for your day.
Instagram, Facebook, personal websites, Pinterest, these are just a few platforms to help make your search easier. Pictures are the best way to figure out your favorite looks. Referrals are another great way to track someone down. If your friends are getting married, simply ask them who they are using. Passing around vendors is a perfect way to choose a team based on past positive experiences with fellow brides.
Just like you found the man of your dreams, now it’s time to find an artist that will mesh with your personality. May not seem important but when it comes to high stress times, these stylists can be the one to guide you into a direction of gorgeous bridal looks that will suit you. Like any relationship, communication and compromise is key! Bet you never thought about that in choosing hair and make-up, but they can be some of your biggest supporters on that day.
Weddings can be a big expense. You should have a price point in mind before going into your search. Seek out a couple quotes before settling down. Obviously you want the best service but you don’t want to break the bank. Make sure you get all the details you need to figure out if the team you choose will fit into your budget.
Having the styling team come to you has been a popular trend in the past couple of years. It leaves more time for relaxing instead of dealing with the hustle and bustle of a busy salon. Your venue may be a bit of a drive so make sure you ask about travel fees, parking, and tolls. All of these factors are something you may have to cover the day of in order to have your team travel to your location.
If you have a large bridal party make sure that they can accommodate everyone. Sometimes the styling team will need to bring along help. You want to make sure your morning runs smoothly. The photographer will often give you a timeline and if your hair and makeup are running behind, this can make for a stressful morning and create problems for the rest of the day. Having a schedule and set times may help alleviate any issues.
Hair and makeup is one of the best ways to enhance your look on one of the biggest days of your life. You searched for the perfect dress, venue, photographer, and your fiancé, of course, don’t let choosing your stylists be any different. Book your trials as soon as possible with your favorite stylists and make-up artists to nail down your “Dream Team.” We know you’ve been pinning and liking our posts so making this decision should be pretty easy once you finally have that beautiful ring!
